Par Excellence is a boutique style, business consulting and marketing research firm. Our approach combines strategy, research and implementation expertise to design and carry out action oriented projects tailored for success.

Working additionally with a supporting team of business writers, researchers, and analysts, Par Excellence is comprised of the following:

Art Jacoby (Business Strategist)

Art Jacoby, MBA has had a remarkable career that began in economic research, moved into large corporate planning and merger & acquisition responsibilities. The past 20 years has been spent in a consulting capacity.

In 1976, Art joined the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis ,where he spent 4 years conducting economic research on the U.S. economy. In 1980-1981, Art returned to school to earn an MBA at the College of William & Mary.

 

In 1981, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and was hired to do business unit financial planning and analysis at Target Corporation's headquarters followed by running corporate planning and merger and acquisition activities at Carlson Companies and Tonka Toys. Art then served as VP Finance and Administration for The Aveda Corporation where he raised capital, expanded national distribution and added key senior management, all of which resulted in increasing the business from $16M to $34M in less than 2 years.

 

Since 1986, Art has advised several hundred small business owners, raised capital, sourced and negotiated acquisitions and divestitures, recommended significant marketing and sales strategy changes, as well as changes to management teams. He has assumed the responsibilities of President/CEO 5 times during these years. These companies were: B&B Distributors, Inc., Ludlow Advertising, Inc., Brocato International, Inc., Creative Breakthroughs Inc. and Heath Design Group, Inc. 

 

Art acts as a strategist on the Par Excellence team, and provides consulting for those clients wishing to raise capital.

Susan Mackasey (Managing Director)

Susan Mackasey has over fifteen years of marketing, research and business development experience to her credit. At Par Excellence, she has written over 100 successful investor ready business plans, helping to secure millions of dollars of funding for a wide variety of organizations and industries including manufacturing, retail, medical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, technological, realty, hospitality, non-profit organizations and other specialties. In addition to her business planning capacities, Susan has designed and supervised numerous research projects for the purpose of helping her clients make informed marketing decisions,, and has developed marketing and actions plans for her clients based on marketing research findings.

 

Prior to her position with Par Excellence, Susan was employed as Marketing Director for the travel consortium, Condo Selections. In this capacity, Susan was responsible for establishing and coordinating all marketing functions for the company. She was instrumental in the development of the company's marketing and advertising strategy for the purpose of assuring growth, creating consumer awareness, ensuring quality control, and profitability.

Susan is a member in good standing of the Marketing Research Intelligence Association (MRIA), and was the recipient of the Joseph Doyle academic award of excellence presented by the MRIA, in 2007.


Susan has a proven capability in building, organizing and managing successful business development and marketing strategies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with special emphasis on Marketing, Buyer Behavior and International Marketing.  She is currently pursuing her CMRP designation through the MRIA.

Stan Rog (Research Director)

Stan Rog, PhD, MBA serves as moderator and research analyst at Par Excellence, and has conducted hundreds of online and in-person focus groups and depth interviews. He has extensive experience holding interviews with high level executives and industry experts. Stan holds his PhD and Masters degree in Psychology from Concordia University, and has a strong background in visual psychophysics. In addition to these achievements, Stan holds certification in fitness training and behavioral nutrition. His post-graduate work was in behavioral medicine and cognitive-behavioral therapy at The Royal Victoria Hospital and The Montreal General Hospital.

Stan has worked at the Department of Kinesiology at McGill University under the auspices of the McGill Motorsport Research Group, an elite testing facility for professional race drivers. Stan’s post graduate research was in the area of metacognition. Stan is a published author has appeared in many different forms of media: newspapers, magazines, radio, tele-conferencing and television.

Stan has experience across a wide variety of industry sectors, with particular experience with healthcare, pharmaceutical and fitness markets.

Debi Sanderson (Human Resources Strategist)

Debi Sanderson, H.B.A., M.B.A., has extensive experience in the field of Human Resources, holding increasingly senior leadership positions throughout her career.  Most recently, Debi was Associate Vice-President of Group Human Resources (Global), for The Toronto Dominion Bank Financial Group.


During her career, Debi led numerous teams in the areas of Compensation, Benefits, Organization Development, Education and Training, and HR Technology.  She was extensively involved in managing a wide range of Human Resources issues relating to several major acquisitions during her fourteen-year tenure with The Toronto Dominion Bank.

 

Debi holds her Masters Degree in Business Administration from The University of Western Ontario (1992).

 

Currently, Debi serves as lead Human Resources Strategist with Par Excellence.

Alex Taddeo (Managing Director)

Alex Taddeo has 18 years of business consulting, product development and operations leadership experience, and brings a broad range of marketing and business development expertise to Par Excellence.

 

Alex has a strong knowledge base of techniques and business strategies that influence productivity and profitability. He has directed consulting engagements for numerous companies in a broad range of industries, including telecommunications, finance, hospitality and import/export.

 

At Par Excellence, Alex enhances customer relationships and oversees many of the marketing research and business consulting projects undertaken. Prior to his position with Par Excellence, Alex was employed by Costco as a Senior Purchaser for a variety of categories, where he was responsible for the identifying and sourcing of product (which included extensive international travel including China and Mexico), product selection, importation, negotiations, purchasing and successfully bringing the products to market. Alex handled a division that generated an excess of $150 million in revenue.

 

Alex holds his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing with additional specialization in Business Management and Development. He has also obtained his certification in Purchasing and Inventory Control.
